Bridie's Farm open day

Bridies Farm - wow, what a wonderful open day! This was a chance to visit the land after 18 months of committed preparation by the core team, and what a sense of cohesion within the team and with the land.

The farm is on the margins of the town and within easy reach by foot or bicycle. The site tour took us around the different zones, revealing both an observant and holistic approach to working with the land, including:

  • A site prepared for 2 polytunnels for food production using re-used frames
  • Meadow area which will be allowed to naturalise
  • A well-fenced tree nursery busrting with fruit blossom
  • Wild hedgerows and ditches
  • Round house – a space for group and learning activities
  • Medicine herb area
  • Forest school area with a tree circle and giant wood Ent

Regular volunteer days are on Tuesdays, to get involved email info@bridiesfarm.org.uk

The project has an openness to work with different local groups so many can benefit, community groups and organisations wanting to get involved community@bridiesfarm.org.uk
