
Community seed swaps are a great way to get your community together and start the growing season. You can also follow your event with a seedling and plant swap - put a date in the diary and let people know it’s happening at your seed swap.
Many people as their seeds start to germinate and grow will have spare seedlings, other growers may have surplus plants they have grown.
Organising a seedling and plant swap is a good opportunity for people to share their surpluses, find a replacement for something that hasn’t grown well (or been eaten by slugs!) and is another chance to build community as growers swap and share advice and tips.
You can ask those who haven’t seedlings to swap to make a donation. Some groups also run a plant sale to raise funds for their project and ask for plant donations. Coming up in Somerset:
