We are excited to be supporting the new LandAlive conference - a 2-day regenerative food and farming event at the Bath & West Showground on the 22-23rd of November, run in partnership with our wider organisation Sustainable Food Somerset.

It's a call to rethink how we produce food and move towards a more regenerative and localised farming system in the South West and across the country. Regenerative farming practices have so many benefits, from restoring the soil and wildlife, as well as building local food resilience and community health.

The speaker and panel workshop sessions are taking shape, with a wealth of expertise across a number of subjects including

Day 1: REGENERATING THE LAND & THE REGION:

The core principles, practices and rewards of Regenerative Farming; farming profitably whilst reducing inputs; herbal leys; healthy living soils and healthier food; agroforestry research and benefits; potential of small-scale horticulture; innovations shaping the food sector; new routes to market and building consumer support.

Day 2: HEALTHY FOOD, HEALTHY COMMUNITIES

Meet the farmers, growers, retailers, artisan producers, chefs, nutritionists, community organisations and policy makers at the forefront of the sustainable food movement in the South West; relocalisation efforts and local infrastructure; community growing, CSAs social supermarkets and food hubs; how to get good food back on the high street and into schools and institutions; Improving food education and engaging young people in the future of food; Reclaiming the narrative for a healthier, fairer food system; Policy Makers Summit: ‘joining the dots’ across the food system and across the region.
