Support and funding to help feed your community

With continued rising costs, access to healthy and affordable food is an increasing issue across communities in Somerset. There are many schemes to tackle food inequality and we are in discussion around how we can help map these and make this information available across the county.

The Community Council for Somerset (CCS) is working in partnership with Somerset County Council and can help with funding, advice, equipment & ingredients and provide support with setting up a food distribution scheme.

If you are working in your community to tackle food inequality and build food resilience, then grant funding for community projects is available - maximum of £2,000 and the deadline is 31st March 2022: https://smartcommunities.online/new-food-resilience.../.

Finally, if you are struggling to buy food, a local village agent may be able to help.
