Thank you for joining us, with nearly 30 people on the Zoom call, there was lots to discuss. It’s always good to be in the zoom room with so many passionate community food people. Collaboration was a strong theme, both the work of our speakers and the connections people made with others on the night. We heard from:

Sam Evans (Frome Nature Prescribing Coalition) shared the collaborative approach of to building a stronger network of green projects, with GPs and the Town council involved and the benefits this approach could lead to larger funding opportunities. Sam described the creation of pathways and promotions as well as developing research projects on the regarding health benefits.

Ramona Belcher (Avalon Farming and Food Forum) shared their group’s developments, from the initial People’s Assembly to strategic ways they are trying to influence both local councils and Local Community Network groups, plus the tools they are using e.g. https://oneplanet.com. View their launch film here.

We also welcomed Jill Loader, who is new in post as the Somerset Food Resilience Lead, Jill is keen to meet food resilience project workers and volunteers across the county – email: jill.loader@casomerset.org.uk

The events mentioned have been added to our events page here and please send event updates to info@somersetcommunityfood.org.uk
