What do you do? Hallr Wood is a small, south facing, steeply sloping, amenity woodland (nearly 7 acres) near Somerton with a small growing garden. The woods are used by many different groups, including adult groups, some holiday play days and schools. We welcome volunteers for community weekend volunteering and have an open group on Wednesdays during term time (see below).
Who can participate? (including volunteers) A wide mixture of groups of all ages. For Volunteer days, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
When are you open? We welcome volunteers on Wednesdays during term time 9:30-3:00. We have a small growing area to tend as well as woodland management and maintenance tasks. We provide a cooked camp fire soup lunch.
Can food surplus be donated (fresh / long-life)? Yes please! Anything that we can make into lunches and snacks for our groups, especially for groups running on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Is there wheelchair access? Yes, though it isn't possible to access the whole site because of steep slopes.
