We support a network of community food projects in Somerset. This includes:
- Growing projects such as community gardens
- Distribution projects such as food co-ops
- Healthy eating projects such as cookery classes
We provide training. Our Get Set Cook and Get Set Grow training equip people to grow and cook their own food, so people can benefit from access to fresh, nutritious food. We have an experienced team of tutors who facilitate this.
We run community food conferences. Bringing people together to celebrate successes and share good practice and ideas. We share news from the network and send out a local food newsletter several times a year.
We host the Incredible Edible Somerset site. This contains information and advice on all aspects of community food and access to land. Providing a space for food projects and people to connect with each other and share information. Sign up to Incredible Edible Somerset here.
We have run many successful community food projects across the county, working with a variety of partners – please visit our past projects page for examples.
